Camp Jo-Ota
Emily and Lori went to Camp Jo-Ota this past July for a weekend church camp. There were 10 families there.
It really surprised me how quickly Emily made friends!
Emily had fun in the MUD PIT!!!!
Emily and her new friend Sara from Mexico, Missouri had fun in the pool.
Another highlight was CRAZY KICKBALL - 2nd base was a tarp with spaghetti noodles and syrup on it. Luckily homeplate was a slip and slide.
Fourth of July 2008
We had fun over the 4th of July weekend in Derby. Uncle Bubba, Karen, Braden, Kristen and Dylan were at Grandmas from Tennessee. We spent a bunch of time at Aunt Becky's riding the 4 wheeler, gokart and motor bike. Tyler did suffer a 2nd degree burn down his leg from a little bike accident - but he didn't let that spoil his fun!!
Emily and Kristen had fun jumping on the trampoline!

F3 Tornado
Many of you are aware of the tornado that ripped through our neighborhood early Friday May 2nd. It was a very scary time for all of us. We had no warning and were very lucky we were not in the middle of the storm. I don't think we would have made it to the basement.
We have a lot of roof damage - leaks in the bath and closet upstairs, BBQ grill ruined, patio furniture ruined, guttering off, etc. etc.
Our trampoline ended up three house down and around the corner on top of a neighbors fence.
I think it can be fixed!!!
Emily and Tyler are very sad about this. I keep telling them we will get a new one.
Just two blocks away did not fare as well. There are at least 20 house unliveable. We were very lucky there were no serious injuries or deaths. As the President of the Homeowners Association I spent Friday in the neighborhood trying to help.

We hope that everyone had a good Christmas! We made a very LONG trip to Wichita/Derby on the 22nd. This happened to be the same day as the BLIZZARD! A trip that usually takes us 3 hours ended up taking 8 HOURS - 2 of them were setting on the Kansas Turnpike. We sure were happy to pull in Grandma Marilyn's driveway that night. It was so nice to see Grandpa and Grandma Wahl; Becky, Steve, Riley and Kayla; Grandpa and Grandma Ewing, Mark, Cheree, Cody, Kate, Meg, Ella and Chase; Uncle Brian and Jess; Marcia, Bruce and Brent; Gary and Jodi; Kerrie, Kevin, Gus, Stella and Scarlette; Amy, Justin, Grant, Chloe and Grace.
Emily got so many things - I think her favorite was the American Girl doll that Santa brought her. It is the Emily doll and looks just like Emily.
Tyler also got a bunch. He is learning to ride the ripstick and the Guitar Hero looks really neat.
